IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Voice over LTE (VoLTE)

The promise of the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) isn't just to bring to mobile communications the same services and applications found on the Internet at large, but to allow network operators newfound flexibility in controlling individual services according to each subscriber’s and application’s demands. That’s where Camiant comes in.

Camiant’s PCRF provides full compliance with 3GPP’s* Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) specifications and is interoperable with more than a dozen major IMS component vendors. It has been proven in a number of successful IMS field trials for major fixed and mobile operators, making it the gold standard as an IMS PCRF. The MPE lets operators more readily segregate, manage, control and support data traffic associated with a variety of IP applications that serve mobile users.

Among the liveliest trends in mobile communications is the convergence of fixed-location and portable devices and the networks that serve them. Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) is built around an irresistible vision in which a seamless handoff occurs between calls and data transmissions between fixed-line and mobile networks.

Camiant's suite of network policy and performance control technologies uniquely serves to address the missing element of the Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) sector — the behind-the-scenes policy management activities that will make the difference in the performance of a new communications medium.

As the only vendor to support fixed and mobile architectures in the same product, Camiant is the vendor of choice for future fixed-mobile convergence networks. Camiant’s MPE supports more standard and proprietary interfaces to network gateways than any other vendor, including products from leading GGSN, CMTS, BNG and DPI/optimization vendors. The MPE can communicate with other PCRFs in the network, thereby enabling the advanced policy routing and peering functionality needed to deploy a single architecture to support all access networks.
