The shift towards delivering all communications services over next generation broadband networks is well underway. Future networks will have one application-enabling infrastructure that is able to rapidly deploy new services when, where and to what device the customer prefers. At the same time, converged networks reduce delivery cost by removing service-specific silos of equipment and bandwidth.
However, this shift assumes the next generation broadband network is able to service each application with equal performance to the current networks, while keeping network expansion costs in check.
Camiant’s policy server supports a wide variety of applications across cable, wireless, WiMAX and fixed line (DSL, FTTx) networks. Several of the solutions are geared towards managing bandwidth utilization to control network capital expenditures, while others support premium, revenue-generating new services.
