Camiant's Bandwidth on Demand Application Manager (BoD AM) enables the quick integration of new applications into the access network, without the application itself requiring any specific knowledge about the access network technology. Camiant's BoD AM receives service requests from applications via HTTP or SOAP messages, and translates those requests into standards-compliant service requests. The service request then is forwarded to a policy server for establishing quality of service (QoS).

The Camiant BoD AM maintains awareness of each active session, as well as the historical sessions, for every associated application. This knowledge enables the application manager to provide valuable information for subscriber billing, usage tracking, and service reliability, and for the deployment of any multimedia application.
