Camiant's Policy Server

Camiant's policy server is a central component of the broadband network, providing vital real-time intelligence and control.

The policy server is an intelligent platform for applying ordained business rules that determine which customers, tiers and/or applications receive bandwidth priority, and when. It undertakes the responsibility to render QoS conditions for every application; it has a real-time understanding of the utilization state of network resources; and it provides an infrastructure for new revenue opportunities.

In addition to managing specification compliance, the Camiant policy server includes such value-added features as load-balanced scalability, comprehensive state maintenance, and high availability without any single point of failure. The policy server is capable of interfacing directly with Camiant-provided or third party application managers and IP network devices and is compliant with industry-specific open standards. In addition, the policy server is also capable of routing messages to other policy servers, a facility that allows operators to create hierarchical architectures that enhance the scalability of overall network infrastructures and provide tremendous flexibility in application deployments.

Camiant Manager
The Camiant Manager provides a Web-based interface enabling direct control for all Camiant products over either a single or redundant platform. The Camiant Manager operates as an element management and provisioning system for Camiant products, providing network operators with a single point of configuration for a distributed policy network.
